On October 17, Stephen Lecce, MPP for King-Vaughan, was invited to drop the puck at the Vaughan Rangers’ Under 13 Select Blue Team’s first exhibition game of the season at Sports Village. Prior to the start of the game, he met with the student players to encourage them to embrace the values of teamwork, respect, and hard work. We know how critical sports and extra curriculars are to the mental health of young people, and Stephen was thrilled to join them at their first game to see these students in action.
Stephen played in the Vaughan Hockey Association league for over a decade,
including as a former Vaughan Ranger. The team presented MPP Lecce with his own Vaughan Rangers jersey, to honour his involvement and alumni status.
“Great game played by the Vaughan Rangers’ U13 Select Blue Team!”, said Stephen Lecce, MPP for King-Vaughan. “It’s amazing to get students back to class, and now, back into competitive sports — a great way to build leadership skills and stay active. I am proud of our young leaders.”
