Stephen Lecce, MPP for King-Vaughan recently joined 2022 Olympic gold medalists Laura Stacey (Kleinburg native) and Marie-Philip Poulin (Captain of Team Canada’s Women’s Ice Hockey team) to celebrate local volunteers who help build confidence in young hockey players at a volunteer appreciation gala held in Vaughan.
MPP Lecce played in Vaughan Hockey, as did his brother, for over a decade as youngsters, including for the Vaughan Rangers.

“As a strong supporter of youth sports, it was a pleasure for me to provide some well-deserved thanks and appreciation to the many local volunteers and coaches who make youth hockey possible for King-Vaughan’s youth,” said MPP Lecce. “As a kid, I played for Vaughan Hockey and my entire family were involved in local hockey, so I was nostalgic and fiercely proud to see that that experience continue as young people learn about teamwork, leadership and confidence building.”
