On September 15th, Stephen Lecce, MPP for King--Vaughan, joined the King community for the annual Terry Fox Run at the King City Park. Since the founding in King, the Terry Fox run has raised over $300,000 for cancer research. MPP Lecce spoke about the government’s investment in cancer care and prevention at the Stronach Centre at Southlake Hospital, inclduing through the addition of a new CT-scanner.
"Terry's memory lives on -- 43 years later -- in those that have been inspired by his powerful legacy of hope and courage," said MPP Lecce. "Heartwarming to see so many community members lace up their shoes and pay tribute to a great Canadian as we continue his mission of beating cancer once and for all. Thanks to Lisa and the entire team in King for organizing another successful run, over nearly 20 years in our community.”
